Home & Life Orphanage Foundation in Phang Nga province close to Khao Lak was established after the Tsunami of 2004 to assist the many children and some of the other survivors left homeless from the natural disaster. The main objective of the foundation is to provide a sustainable home for children and to teach them living skills and to be active members in society.
The children attend local Thai schools and while at the foundation they partake in activities such as making handicrafts, gardening, dancing and working in the bakery. Volunteer teachers come to the centre to conduct English language lessons and activities.
Established on one rai of land, founders Khun Bhudit and his wife Rasa have together with staff, designed and built a home for children without their own families.
Currently there are five children who suffered home and family loss. The rest are from local communities and stay at the orphanage due to economic misfortune and family difficulties.
Living at the orphanage gives the children the opportunity to have a good start in life within a family environment.
