Discover Chiang Mai’s mountain nature, local culture, and elephants in one meaningful full-day trip.
Start with hotel pickup in Chiang Mai and travel toward the elephant sanctuary by air-conditioned van. For the final section, switch to a roofed 4x4 truck and continue into the peaceful mountain area.
At the sanctuary, receive a safety briefing and learn how to behave respectfully around the elephants. Change into traditional northern clothing and spend time observing the elephants as they walk, eat, graze, and move naturally around the sanctuary.
This is an observation-led experience. There is no riding, no animal show, and no forced performance. Depending on animal welfare, weather, and sanctuary operations, you may have the chance to feed the elephants under staff guidance.
Continue to Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest mountain. Visit scenic waterfalls, admire the Twin Pagodas, and enjoy the cool mountain air.
Walk the Pha Dok Siew nature trail with your guide. This medium-level hike takes you through forest, waterfalls, rice terraces, and local farmland before reaching Ban Mae Klang Luang, a Karen hill tribe village known for its coffee-growing traditions.
