Description
The minivan collects you from your hotel while most of Phuket is still asleep. By 7 AM you step onto a longtail boat at the mainland pier. By 8 AM you are holding a paddle.
Your canoe glides into Hong Island, a world of lagoons, caves and grottoes. Every turn opens a new passage, and the only way to see what waits around the next bend is to keep paddling.
But the journey has more to show. Ahead rises James Bond Island, the 007 rock standing straight out of the sea, one of the most famous sights in Thailand. Then the boat takes you to Koh Panyi, a village built on stilts over the water, where lunch is served above the waves.
And now the adventure takes a turn you may not expect. At Mantra Forest Spa on the mainland, the day changes from action to calm. Move between thermal and sea-water pools of different temperatures. Plunge into the ice pool. Soak in herbal tubs with turmeric, bergamot and lemongrass. Try the saunas, the mud baths and the tropical shower, then stroll to a lake full of giant water lilies. A locker, a towel and a bottle of water are waiting for you.
Included: hotel pickup and drop-off from all areas of Phuket, longtail boat, English-speaking guide, lunch, canoeing, all entrance fees, spa locker, towel and water, and medical insurance. Not included: snacks and drinks at the spa, the refundable locker deposit of 100 THB, photo session and dress rental, and tips.
