Description
Spend a full day exploring the nature, culture, and wildlife of southern Thailand on an immersive ethical adventure from Phuket.
Begin with hotel pick-up in Phuket and enjoy a scenic drive through rural landscapes, plantations, and local villages toward Phang Nga Province.
Your first stop is Wang Kiang Koo Waterfall, where local paddlers welcome you at the riverbank. Step aboard a traditional bamboo raft and drift gently along the jungle stream as your paddler skillfully navigates the natural flow of the river. After rafting, take time to relax, swim, or cool off in the crystal-clear waters beneath the waterfall.
Next, visit the Sea Turtle Conservation Center, an important rehabilitation facility dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles. Learn about different species, rescue stories, and conservation efforts while observing turtles of various sizes and stages of recovery.
Continue to Wat Lak Kaen, one of the oldest and most significant temples in the area. Hear the story of the Buddha’s holy relic and gain insight into local spiritual traditions. Enjoy a freshly prepared southern Thai set lunch at a nearby local restaurant.
After lunch, stop at Police Boat 813 Bangniang, a powerful tsunami memorial. Once a patrol vessel, the boat was carried inland by the 2004 tsunami. Listen to stories of resilience and community strength shared by your guide.
The journey continues to an ethical elephant sanctuary, home to rescued domestic elephants cared for by experienced mahouts. This visit follows observation-only, elephant-led principles, with no riding, no bathing, no forced interaction, and no physical contact.
Learn about each elephant’s background and daily care through educational storytelling. Guests may help prepare a natural meal for the elephants, which is offered by their caretakers according to welfare-based practices. From a safe distance, observe the elephants as they move naturally within their environment.
Join a guided observation walk, following behind the elephants at a respectful distance while allowing them to set their own pace under mahout supervision. Pause at a designated viewing platform near a natural creek and observe the elephants if they choose to bathe or play in the mud, entirely on their own terms.
