Description
Hidden Forest Elephant Reserve is an ethical sanctuary co-founded by elephant specialists Mr. Kong and Louise Rogerson. Located in the hills of southern Phuket, it provides a natural home for four rescued female elephants formerly used in the riding industry. The elephants now roam freely, socialize, and engage in natural behaviors such as playing in ponds and wallows.
After watching an introduction video, you will meet and feed the elephants before taking a leisurely walk through the forest. The route varies according to the elephants' movements, allowing them to roam freely. Along the walk, you can rest in bamboo observation huts and watch the elephants in their daily activities. The experience concludes with a vegetarian meal made from fresh, local ingredients while observing the elephants at the pond.
The sanctuary also supports local wildlife, offering daily sightings of birds such as eagles and egrets, as well as butterflies and dragonflies.
