The Ao Chalong Yacht Club (ACYC) offers a regular schedule of races for keelboats and sailing instruction on dinghies. The club maintains an active social programme for sailors, their friends and families. The Phuket Youth Sailing Club operates out of Ao Yon on Cape Panwa and offers sailing instruction and various sailing and on the water-related activities.

ACYC sponsors a regular Sunday racing programme and hosts several of the regattas in the area - The Bay Regatta - Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi and Phuket Mutihull Regatta and regular activities having a central location at Chalong Bay and convenient facilities. Youth sailing is encouraged with regular training programmes offered. The Phuket Youth Sailing Club provides sailing instruction on dinghies and small keelboats primarily to youngsters who go on to participate in regattas - Phuket King's Cup Regatta - in Phuket and Thailand.
