The Grumpy Old Men's Society (GOMS) offers the opportunity for gentlemen to get together several times a month to enjoy drinks, engage in lively conversation, swap stories, business network and to raise funds for charities and similar causes in Phuket.
Established on November 15, 2009 by several individuals over several beers, meetings are held on the first and third Monday every month. Drinks start at 6pm and meetings at 6:45. GOMS accepts only men. It doesn't matter the age, but it helps if they're prone to grumpiness every now and then.
Donations include a drinking water maker to the Sunshine Village Foundation, support to PAWS (Phuket Animal Welfare Society), giving goods and food to the old people's home and support of the Home & Life Foundation in Phang Nga province near Khao Lak through the installation of water filtration systems and building construction to provide additional accommodation as well as the construction of a retaining wall on the banks of an adjacent river.
