Markinny Mate is a family run restaurant in Phuket City that offers a selection of Asian fusion food and western dishes. The food is highly raved about and is inexpensive - burgers and fries, steak and pasta selections are all available at very reasonable prices. The restaurant also serves western breakfast that is available all day!
Chef Sive Phaothong-ngarm recommends several dishes: BBQ honey pork ribs served with creamy mash potatoes and salad, grilled chilli prawns pasta in rich cream-tomato sauce and pappardelle pasta, grilled chicken breast topped with bacon, tomato salsa and melted cheese served with French fries and salad and papya salad.
The decor is simple with a relaxed ambience and is friendly.
The name comes from the Thai chef who worked in Australia with 'markinny' roughly translated to 'come eat here'.
